Young Leaders Network

Young Ideas. Real Opportunities. Real Impact.

Our Young Leaders Network gives young people a real platform to create, plan and deliver their own ideas to make a difference in their community.

From Malakai designing the Young Leaders logo to Hareem creating the Booktopia project, everything starts with our young people. We give them the space, support and responsibility to turn ideas into action while developing confidence, leadership and valuable skills along the way.

Their Ideas. Their Projects.

Booktopia — A Young Leader Idea Brought to Life

was inspired to create a mobile Booktopia due to a few reasons:

  • Liking a book and wanting to share it with other people in the community
  • Giving secondhand books a new lease of life and reducing waste
  • Bringing books to people because libraries and bookstores may not be
    accessible
  • I want to encourage children to read more often.

I hope that the Booktopia will help children and families connect over literature by creating small moments where they are discovering new stories, and spend more time talking about them and creating memories with one another, I love it when my mum reads to me! I would love to share that.

Books are important to me because I believe that they expand your vocabulary as well as aid your learning and growth. Reading also helps to develop your imagination and can help you get a break from everyday life.

A mobile library helps the community by making books more accessible, encourages reading, supporting education and creating opportunities for children to connect and learn together.I hope my Booktopia will bring knowledge and inspiration to children of all ages while giving books a second chance.

I hope that Booktopia will build a stronger reading culture and in the future I hope that we can expand our Booktopia library with more secondhand books and help the environment and hopefully visit more locations with our mobile Booktopia so more people are able to access all our wonderful book.
